ALASKA digital photos reveal the solution to the ASTEROID-BINARY THEOREM mystery of extinctions at multiples of 2 million year cycles
FEATURES SHOWN ABOVE WILL BE EXPLAINED BELOW; THESE SHOULD AROUSE YOUR INTEREST IN UNDERSTANDING WHY THE METAMORPHIC ROCKS IN THE HIGH LATITUDES ARE SUBJECT TO INCREASED SHEAR AND COMPRESSIVE STRESS. THIS IS FOUND TO BE RELATED TO BANDS OF LATITUDE WHERE CHANGE OF WESTWARD LATERAL TIDAL SHOVE IS TRANSLATED TO VERTICAL RISE OF THE CRUST- SCAVENGING THE ADJACENT ROCK FOR MASS, WHILE CREATING SINKS IN THE PROCESS.

I have observed that there is a periodicity to the major extinctions noted by geologists (32, Oregon plant die-offs; 64, KT dinosaurs; 256 m.y. PTr great extinction). Although there is a slight age disparity in radioactivity-measured dates and the Binary theorem, this is only on the order of a few percent, and this easily could be due to unknown interferences.
This BLOG will attempt to show by use of Google Earth and my own digital photos, the answers to the following questions:
1. Are asteroid strikes the “TRIGGER” to events which are due to regular upheavals of the earth’s crust, occurring at times of “flipping” of portions of the crust?
2. When cliffs or exposures of crustal rocks are displayed vertically, the rotation of shear circles is in harmony with the horizontal display (CW below CCW shear circles). This becomes unstable, when the cliffs develop overhangs, and the vertical rotation is then at conflict with the horizontal. For major features, such as the Hurricane Fault, Hf, this incurs a major release of HEAT, VULCANISM, and re-arrangement of regional features. Hence there is an instability, which yields abnormal stress, movement (possibly violent enough to create die-off of life), and “CHATTER” of the EARTH’S CRUST:
THIS ANALYSIS WILL START WITH THE PANHANDLE OF ALASKA, WHERE UPLIFTS ARE OLD IN INCIPIENCE, WHERE THE UPLIFT DUE TO REBOUND AND "CHATTER" IS PRONOUNCED, AND WHERE THE AGE OF THE MOVEMENTS CAN BE READILY MEASURED VIA THE CURVATURE AND DIAMETER OF LARGE BLOCKS (ISLANDS) OF CRUST:
The Aleutian Islands form an ellipse for both the older 200m.y. feature and the present array of islands. This feature is not the best for determining the age of either, since there is an error according to the ELLIPTICITY of the arc of islands. The age shown is approximate, since the ellipse is formed from the combination of an AXIAL and a PRECESSIONAL cycle. With additional work, the two can be separated to determine the age of each; they are harmonics of the 23 and 41 k.y. Milankovitch cycles (wobbles, due to the precession of the EQUINOX and concomitant polar circle). Reviewing the calculation of age by use of the daimeter/20 km/m.y, the calculated age is 200 m.y. for the older or wider arc, and 195m.y. for the present Aleutian island arc. This difference of 5 m.y. can be used to check the method, by noting that the fulcrum or center of the arc has moved westward by 200-250 km in the intervening time. This method calculates 30mm/yr for the largest movement, with its attendant errors, and 20mm/yr, for the likely due west movement. I used diameter/20km/m.y. for the calculation of both arc ages, and this difference indicates that the error of the process is on the order of 33 percent. We must constantly check this method of age calculation, since we do not know whether the TIDAL MOVEMENT WEST has been consistent over the Mesozoic to Quaternary time interval. The error of 33% indicates that we are at least in the “BALL PARK”! I suspect that the KT strike accompanied a change of this divisor, since the earth has slowed and expanded in the interim:
You might inquire whether the younger present Aleutian island (north array) arc indicates that the movement with time is to the north for the entire chain. This would be the case, except that the convex side of the arc indicates that the “RIPPLE” IS TO THE SOUTH. This is not to argue against subduction of the ocean floor underneath the present island arc. Rather, it indicates that the true driving force is the over-ride of the crust over the heavier oceanic rocks. My finding of MIMA MOUNDS NEAR REBOUND on Whidbey Island (a rise) within an elliptical terrace illustrated that there is vertical movement or rise of mounds within the ellipse. This was due to reduction of the westward TIDAL SHIFT to something near zero net movement laterally (while the vertical movement transpired). This was labeled “CHATTER” and required that the local movement be calculated individually. I find that the location of an ellipse requires that the local net tidal movement be calculated nearby, and to insist that there is CHATTER whenever the ellipse is observed. This will be the case for vulcanism, which occurs within an ellipse, as well as cases of REBOUND, SPIRALING, and WOBBLE of the earth for entities such as mass re-distribution and asteroid strikes.
TERRANES, as related to rotations of BLOCKS of CRUST
Terranes, as used by geologists, are exotic blocks of crustal rock which have been rafted from their point of origin onto other segments of the crust. This term is not accepted by many structural geologists, since it is related to several “fuzzy” entities:
1. They originate OUT THERE;
2. They may be younger or older than blocks onto which they are now “bradded“;
3. They have no roots, in that they lie atop rocks with which they have no connection, e.g. the Olympic Mountains in WA;
4. They are usually metamorphosed, or compressed and re-arranged at their boundaries; and,
5. They are not known as to the place of deposition.
We now understand how blocks of crust have been sheared and rotated, so that the initial connection or origin can be traced with EARTH TIDES and RATES of movement. The case of Vancouver Island, BC, Canada has been well-documented, and we will use this literature to show that the TERRANES are in fact blocks influenced by lateral rotation and Coriolis forces. When the blocks rise, they rotate CCW and vice-versa. This occurs on a local, regional, and continental scale, so that no boundaries can be placed on the extent of the movement. The case of the Olympics show excellently that the mountains were sediments which existed in troughs just west of the present Olympic Peninsula. They have been rotated CCW, with rising, later rotated CW as the ice age weighted them downward, and finally they are now rising with REBOUND as the ice has melted. The resulting islands to the east show this history, as rotations of these separate blocks have left arcuate traces in the island cliffs- pointing eastward (convex to the east), for melting ice, and westward for the normal movement.
Using the published ages of the TERRANES on southern Vancouver island, we have 6 different groupings as shown by Yorath and Nasmith in THE GEOLOGY OF SOUTHERN VANCOUVER ISLAND:
a. Devonian Sicker group, at 360-380m.y;
b. Butte Lake Group, at 245 m.y;
c. Vancouver Group, at 230m.y;
d. Bonanza Group, at times after 150m.y. Jurassic; and
e. Coal Harbour Group, of Cretaceous age: 100m.y; and,
f. Crescent Group of Tertiary age: 55-42m.y. in stages.
These ages are those of the rocks laid down before being shoved and rotated against Vancouver Island; hence the age of movement is later. Using ages I have found by using the arcuate partial circles and their diameters, these are the following ones I have ferreted:
2. 16m.y, Miocene;
3. 4m.y, pre-ice age.
In addition we have the expected rotations and departures at critical times of the earth’s history, according to the Binary Theorem:
a. Ptr at 256m.y: shoved Sicker Group;
b. KT at 64m.y: shoved Coal Harbour group;
c. Extinction at 32m.y: shoved Crescent Group;
d. Basalt (flood) outpouring at 16m.y, Miocene;
e. 40m.y. event affecting CA to Olympics; and,
f. Eltanin event at 2 m.y: shoved till and sediments onto Whidbey Island.
I expect that there are others at 4, 8, and 512m.y. but I haven’t put in the work to find them yet.
The “CHATTER” surprise promotes the “Overton SURMISE”!
After looking at the outcrops along the inland Passage, and realizing that they were mostly Paleozoic and older, I realized that there was not the pattern for use of the AGE CALCULATION with arc diameter/20km each million years. This procedure is suspect, because of several factors:
1. Age determinations are low referenced radioactivity dating;
2. There is no GRID development in the ocean basin maps from Vancouver Island to Alaska-rather there are arcuate patterns of SEAMOUNTS;
3. The occurrence of ICE MELTING and other transfers of mass of the earth’s crust results in reduced TIDAL WEST MOVEMENT with time (this continues to occur where there is glaciation, and gives rise to CHATTER, eastward offset of normal earth tides, and vertical rise of mounds, mountains, and uplifts);
4. Latitude is a major factor influencing the magnitude of earth tidal movement; and,
5. I have not incorporated SOLAR TIDES, which become more important with distance from the Equatorial Bulge, EB. The axial tilt of the earth is such as to make the sun more likely to influence tides at the high latitudes in the summer, when there is continual daylight. Winter would have the reverse effect, since the Arctic region would not have the region facing the sun.
It appears that I will have to develop a method for measuring the net TIDAL movement for both MOON and Sun, for the regions near the poles. Outside EB, the moon would be surpassed by the sun, and vice versa. There are few GRID LINES below the Antarctica Circle- giving further credence that CHATTER, seamount production, and NON-LUNAR TIDES are connected. It is likely that a “STANDARD CONSTANT TIDAL MOVEMENT” does not apply for the regions of the globe where there are no TIDAL GRID LINES. This does not negate all of my work for regions inside EB, or for other low latitude locations. Rather, we can simply use the calculations shown on Google Earth photos, and scale the calculations, according to the conversion:

CORRECTED AGE= age shown on arc x 20/n, with n = local spacing, in mm/year.
Above is the upper boundary for the use of the STANDARD TIDAL MOVEMENT RATE, and below is that shown for South America:
The above presentation accentuates that EARTH TIDES AGE CALCULATIONS must not be used for locations where there are seamounts in arcuate patterns. This is the case for chatter of the crust, where mass transfer offsets the normal tidal movement to the west. This also indicates that that EB is disrupted at the southern border of the SA bulge. The PEAR-SHAPED EARTH displaces the equatorial bulge in the South Pacific and is the dominant feature in the southern hemisphere. Even so, there is displacement of north from south islands in New Zealand and for Tasmania- indicating that these are superimposed features, occurring later than the displacement of Australia from Antarctica at 256 m.y.
Mt. St Elias is a hinge point in the DYNAMICS of ALASKA’S CRUSTAL MOVEMENT
I expect that the dominance of SOLAR TIDES over Lunar tides, the Latitude of the zone analyzed, the position of the Longitude in the spherical presentation, the TIME of movement in the earth’s history (AGE in previous millions of years), and the “triggering” of stress relief by ASTEROIDS all play a role in determination of the large movements in the eastern Pacific Ocean. I will try to isolate each of these factors, to determine the principal feature creating the shove of the Alaskan land mass to the south. This movement gives the apparent SUBDUCTION of seafloor underneath the Crust near Anchorage and Denali (Mt. McKinley), and Mt. St. Elias is the fulcrum of the rotation of the Panhandle referenced to the main mass of Alaska. The Panhandle has hardly any vulcanism, compared to considerable for the Aleutians to the region north of Anchorage, and the two regions contrast in many other ways: shear Paleozoic cliffs versus younger island formation; movement to the west, compared to southward movement of Aleutians; and TIDAL GRID lines near the Aleutians, with seamounts for SE Alaska.
There are many gridlines south of the Aleutians, and these may be used to determine the direction of the ”ripple” of the Aleutian arc and its original AGE. This is shown in the seafloor, where the age is calculated as near the known radioactivity age of seamounts in the nearby seamounts in the Emperor-Hawaiian (HI-E) chain:

Photo above requires a local TIDAL MOVEMENT to be measured, rather than to use the magnitude of 20km/m.y. for regions of most of the North Pacific (where parallel linears are regularly spaced). This classification is found to divide the floor into two categories where there is steady movement to the west (by friction from lunar gravity), contrasted to that where vertical movement offsets some of the lateral movement. This gravitational influence is directed partly upward rather than entirely westward. There is an unknown offset, which may reduce the lateral movement (where it is partly converted into a vertical movement). An example which has been measured and investigated by me, occurs on Whidbey Island after there was mass transfer of solid ice to liquid water to the oceans. This reduction of mass above land results in “chatter” of the earth’s crust, and is believed to occur for other mass transfers, such as for the entire San Juan Islands as they were shoved (thrusted) westward. This is to be tested for SE Alaska, where it is believed that similar CHATTER has developed mountainous ‘MIMA MOUNDS” from resonances of the earth after asteroid strikes, polar wobble, as well as ICE REMOVAL.
One factor has now been eliminated from consideration, for influencing the dynamics of SE Alaska and that is latitude, since the two regions shown above are at similar latitudes. We are left with the SOLAR TIDES and longitude as factors to be isolated, but there still remains the observation that there are bands of latitudes where there are drastic contrasts in crustal movements: those inside the Equatorial Bulge , EB (latitudes less than 40N) where west tides are dominant, those above 40N where subduction occurs, (until Mt. Olympus creates rotation to the NW),and now Mt. St Elias at 60N 141W, where there is a swing to northward subduction (southward landmass movement). Below is shown the calculation of AGE for the process of the transition from the Panhandle to the BC border at Mt. St. Elias:
The fulcrum of rotation has moved from the Gulf of Alaska at 51.8m.y. to a further north position at 30.1m.y. at a rate of 11km/year for the intervening 21.7 million years span. This is about half of the normal westward TIDAL shift, and it is not clear whether I should now re-calculate the age of the two shear circles (which were analyzed using 20km/m.y. tidal shift rates). The adjusted calculation yields 6km/m.y. compared to the 11km/m.y. shown on the photo. This is closer to that calculated for the CONTINENTAL SHELF development shown on the same photo for the Panhandle of AK (6.6 mm/yr). Regardless, this analysis emphasizes that a local net TIDAL shift must be measured for those cases involving CRUSTAL CHATTER.
The CHATTER or resonance for the crust is now found to be due to a transfer of mass after the KT strike, from buildup of the Rocky Mountains. This mass uplift occurred after the KT strike created an arcuate arrangement of mountains from North to South America. The mountains represent a bulge, which by its indicated convex eastward portrait moves the Rockies eastward against the normal trend of EARTH TIDES westward. This represents CHATTER, or a reduction of westward movement from 20 to 11 or 6 km/m.y. I believe that this is an entity of worldwide importance for structural geology and for predictions of dynamic events. You might wonder how it is that this continues some 64 million year later, but it is confirmed by noticing that the same dynamics continue for the Himalayas connected with the PTr strike of 256 million years age.
1. Age calculations require that a local net TIDAL MOVEMENT be measured whenever there is mass transfer of the earth’s CRUST such as ICE AGE MELTING, ASTEROID STRIKES’ CREATION OF MOUNTAIN CHAINS, and CONVEX COASTLINES OPPOSING EACH OTHER in ARCUATE PRESENTATION;
2. The CHATTER zone may be isolated for areas where the tidal movement must be calculated locally. This is indicated by opposing arcuate features on the regional scale, such that there is a shift of the convex direction of at least 30 degrees by the compass;
3. Chatter occurs on several scales: LOCAL, for islands where ice has been significantly removed; REGIONAL, for GROUPS OF islands where mass has been thrust atop the crust; and CONTINENTAL, where large asteroid strikes have created regional or continental mountain chains.
THE METHOD OF DETERMINING AGE OF DYNAMIC MOVEMENTS OF THE CRUST IS NOT WITHOUT DIFFICULTIES IN INTERPRETATION. ABOVE IS SHOWN THE ROCKY POINT CASE, WHERE WHIDBEY ISLAND HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO BOTH NORMAL WEST TIDAL MOVEMENTS BEFORE THE ICE AGE, AND WHERE MOVEMENTS WERE EASTWARD AND LATER WESTWARD (WHILE ICE WAS PUSHING THE CRUST DOWNWARD DURING THE 1-2M.Y. INTERVAL).
THE BINARY THEOREM
A STRING VIBRATING IN TWO DIMENSIONS, such as a plucked guitar single strand, has OCTAVE harmony. There are 8 principal sounds, with 4 half notes, in a sequence- which is repeated at higher or lower multiple frequencies- to create harmony. A solid material, such as a solid sphere, has additional resonances. In my early days at Berkeley, I undertook to ferret out the additional resonances and found that there were UNFATHOMABLE squeals in cubes and cylinders; there were non-harmonic frequencies where the cylinders would suddenly whine or squeal. Since I was working with a single entity (an impressed and single-direction focused change-able frequency), there were many variables which rendered the experiment inconclusive. I speculated that there were crystals within the sandstone and basalt rocks which could not be seen, only heard.
The earth has demonstrated to me that it has resonances, as seen by GOOGLE earth. There are intervals of time where events are repeated: extinctions and drastic movements, at multiples of 2 million years: 2 (Eltanin), 32 (plant extinctions), 64 (KT dinosaur disappearance), 256 (Permian-Triassic great extinction), and others at as-yet-not-correlated times. This can be extended backwards to show fractions of 2 m.y: 1, ½, ¼, 1/8 (the large mammal extinctions).
There are also rotations of mountains, sinkholes, and salt domes, which correlate with the Milankovitch cycles of wobbles of the earth: 25, 40 and 100 kilo-years. These have been shown to be related to change of precession of the Equinox, wobble of the poles, and the elliptical departure of the earth’s revolution about the sun.
Additionally, a circle or sphere may be divided into fractions, at discreet whole numbers: 1/72 (5), 1/40th (9 degrees), 1/30 (12), 1/36 (10), 1/24 (15), 1/20 (18), 1/15 (24), 1/10 (36), 1/15 (24), 1/12 (30), 1/10 (36), 1/9th (40), 1/8 (45), 1/6 (60), 1/5 (72), ¼ (90), and ½ (180 degrees). Of these whole numbers, the following are in the x6 series: 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 60, 72, 90, and 180. The other whole numbers fit into multiples of 5: 20, 15, 10, and 5, with the exception of 9- which yields the associated 40th.
I have noticed that arcs presented by shear curvilinears in rocks and paths of seamounts terminate in fractions of circles. With this I have simplified the procedure of calculating the age of a movement with the equation, which is:
AGE= DIAMETER of Circle/ pi, 3.1416/EARTH TIDAL MOVEMENT RATE,
by estimating the portion of a circle in the above fractions, so that the arc may be labeled with measured arc in km, with the following:
Measured arc distance x the whole number, taken from the above series.
e.g. 5000 km x 8, from 45 degrees, or 1/8th of a circumference. This yields 2 pieces of information: the 40k is a harmonic of the AXIAL cycle of 40 kilo-years, and the AGE is found by dividing by pi, and subsequently dividing by the TIDAL grid spacing in km/m.y. (usually 20km/yr, but must be measured whenever there is chatter of the earth, by mass re-distribution: melting ice, mountain erosion, or asteroid strike).
The numbers and series listed above are generally in harmony with each other, that is, a 40 k.y. feature (Milankovitch’s constant polar wobble) is in harmony with the rotation of the earth. However, where there is conflict, as with vulcanism, extinctions, and great earthquakes, there is obviously non-harmony or CHAOS. These events or times are of interest to all life, particularly those adjacent to the turmoil. The ages of 16 (Miocene flood basalts), 32 (Oregon plant extinctions), 64 (KT), and 256 million years (PTr great extinction) do not “fit” harmoniously into any of the listed mathematical series., and they represent instabilities of the earth for several reasons:
1. Disruption is significant enough to kill life;
2. Heat from vulcanism, cratering, or solid friction is associated; and,
3. The crust of the earth is rotated or displaced by thrust faulting, abnormal tidal movement, or “JERKING”, the first derivative, or by “CHATTER” the second derivative of acceleration of the earth.
WHAT’S UP WITH THE NUMBER 9, or 1/40th of the earth‘s 360 degree circumference? Why has the Mendocino 40N parallel proved to replicate itself at least 5 times on its path to the 41 m.y. Kimmei seamount? We’ll try to solve this puzzle, not with Legendre polynomials, but with actions as shown by GOOGLE EARTH, and by digital photos.
Mendocino Transforms show CONTINUAL ACTIVITY SINCE PRECAMBRIAN
Remembering that reversal of convex curves and associated seamounts indicates that CHATTER has occurred, but that GRID LINES allow use of the AGE DIVISOR of 20km/m.y. Look at the analysis of the Mendocino transform at the midpoint:
There are many transforms with indications of various ages, as shown by various arc diameters. This portrayal tries to sort them, according to whether there is chatter (which was associated with the KT strike and uplift of the convex eastward Rocky Mountains). We cannot use the divisor whenever there is chatter, since there is a reduced tidal rate with the accompanying uplift and lateral elliptical rotation. Chatter lines are shown, for several converging lines at the right side of the photo, so that there was a time interval where the reduced tidal effect transpired. This is for the interval from KT to the 40m.y. event. We are trying to find the event, where only its after-effects are shown on GOOGLE EARTH. I believe it represents an instability, or a deviation of the CRUST from its normal behavior, so that it may only be recognized by its influence. The above photo should help sort this; there are indications that this transform is the locus of many repetitions of these instabilities. Below is one associated with an inflection in the Rocky Mountains, which would be that AFTER the KT event:
There is too much information on the above photos, but most of it pertains to calculated AGES OF FORMATION OF ARCUATE SHEAR. We will add to this analysis on separate photos, but for now there is a hint that we have "ZEROED IN" on the appropriate region for finding the 40 m.y. event, which would have transpired after KT and before the 32 m.y. PLANT KILLER.
Another clue to the importance of the number 9 is that of 9K km from the 40N latitude Mendocino coastal point to the Marianas TRENCH; 9K/40K earth circumference is 1/9th of the GLOBE traverse. This was found when I recalled that the major transforms were 7.2 degrees ( 1/50th) of the earth’s circumference apart from each other. This would necessitate that the transforms would cross at some point (since circumferences are not parallel, but are a type of Meridian). The Garlock transform at Santa Barbara, CA does not agree with the crossing; and the next to the south- that of the one to Maui-Molokai measures 9K, from offshore Baja Peninsula (the fulcrum of a significant rotation) 9K km to the EQUATOR near Admiralty Island. (Remind me to regale you later of my excursion to this island during the 50’s, when I encountered my first significant Navigational error enroute and wound up “homing in” on a large thunder cloud similar to the shape of the island on RADAR). Meanwhile, back on the ranch, I had already found that the Garlock fault caused CCW rotation of the CA coast, some 700 km toward the Death Valley anomaly. Consequently, the 700 km difference (shown in green) accounts for the failure of the 9K from offshore Santa Barbara to agree with the location of the Marianas Trench.
All this accentuates that the earth is acting as a unit, affecting movements of the individual quadrants. Continental mass floats on the asthenosphere, performing differently from basaltic oceanic crustal mass; its dynamics create either GRID PATTERNS or SEAMOUNTS- one to the exclusion of the other. GRIDS result from ordinary EARTH TIDES, whereas when there is interference from mass-redistribution (REBOUND), asteroids, or lateral thrusting, the lateral shift of 20km/m.y. is reduced as much as 95%. I don’t intend to analyze other quadrants, but merely insert entities which bear on the Quadransphere, Qsna. The Marianas Trench, the Equator, and the MAR obviously are significant on a global scale.
WHAT HAVE WE FOUND SO FAR, in our search for the NUMBER 9-40 m.y. ANOMALY?
1. The Mendocino 40N transform reflects the EASTERN-MOVING Marianas trench, which is closing the gap to Qsna;
2. The 20km/m.y. TIDAL WESTWARD MOVEMENT pertains to the Americas and not to the other quadrants (30km/m.y is measured for the Marianas); Gridlines are rare in the other quadrants, whereas seamounts are common;
3. Everything found so far indicates that we are viewing the effects associated with MECHANICS, not PLUMES, HOTSPOTS, and other thermal events. Creation of continental slopes, thrust faulting, shallow metamorphism, vulcanism, and uplift of mounds, mountains, and intrusions result from gravitational adjustments- due to the combined influence of the large planets, the moon, SUN, and the interjection of asteroids and other cyclical features. Although there are thermal events accompanying these entities, they result from solid friction and interference from Milankovitch cycles at specific locations- such as the Hurricane fault, Hf, and the edge of the Colorado Plateau, CP.

Viewing circular features, as shown by partial river paths, rotation of fractures in surface rocks, and artificial features such as sheared concrete slabs and roadways- there is the following pattern:
1. Rises rotate CCW, with the western edge higher than the east; this allows the tilt to be related to the direction of the rotation;
2. Sinks rotate CW, with the tilt reversed as in the following photo from the Inland Passage, Juneau, AK:
Next question is “can the underlying vertical rotation be different from the horizontal”?
